Today's Doctor called my situation a "small tear" of the retina, (part of Macular Degeneration -an age-related condition). He thought, I was "lucky" to catch it that early, since I have no particular symptoms (yet) ...Thursday I will know more details, I guess...Treatment shouldn't be too bad, possibly some laser (Ugh)
Wonder if the use of the computer has something to do with it? Do you wear any protective glasses when you work?
If the FLU is in your chest, David, you may need some Antibiotic to get rid of it! Consider seeing a Doctor, if you don't feel better soon..

Yes this is true. There are a very few body cells that do not replace themselves regularly during our lives, and the lens is one of those. However, yours was replaced with the cataract procedure you had, isn't that true?
So anyway, recently I've started taking a multi-vitamin that includes an emphasis on Leutin. It's called I-Caps, made by Alcori. It's a regular multivitamin, even more comfortably smaller than a Centrum multivitamin (I hate the size of Centrum!). So, Leutin is supposed to be a compound that aids healthy eyes and vision. Sally's father has been diagnosed with Macular Degeneration, and has been taking this. Although it won't stop the disease, he says it has helped a little (and maybe it could slow it down, who knows).
Anyway, Mac-Deg scares the heck out of me. I use my eyes alot - all day long at the computer, often not blinking as much as I should, late at night reading before I go to sleep, etc. I don't know the causes of Mac-Deg, but if a Leutin enriched Multivitamin might help, I'll take it. An added plus is that it gets me to *take* the multivitamin regularly. The size of Centrum MVs annoys me so much that I tend to avoid it. These are a little smaller, and go down easier.
Btw, Alcori also makes a non multivitamin version of I-Caps, which I guess is just a Leutin supplement.
Food for thought!
Love,
---Dave.

Hi, David~
Of course I understand; about your vacation time! As much as I would like to see you as often as possible, it is important to be most comfortable as far as timing re: your work, is concerned!
The main thing right now is for you to feel better and get rid of that chest cold (or Flu?)!!!
We just returned from the Eye doctor, who diagnosed some problem with my Retina -had not paid attention to my eyes for many years, between Dad's Alzheimer, my health problems etcetera, etcetera;, so on Thursday I am supposed to see a specialist (possible Laser treatment, or shot,...) That is what we get for living so long -as I told you before, Old age is not for sissies :((((
Take care of yourself - All my Love, MOM

Hi Mom, Julie,
Sorry I missed your call earlier this morning. I was still sleeping and didn't even hear it ringing. But that's a good thing :) as I had a nice long sleep.
I'm still out from work today, although I feel a bit better. I'm still clearly sick and it would make no sense to go in.
Yesterday, it was all in my head (stuffy nose, headache, etc). Today, it has moved into my chest. So it's making its rounds, and should be over in a day or two.
How was your doctor visit?
Also, this sick time impacts me on vacation time such that I will not be able to come down for March. I'd rather come down in April when Julie is on vacation than in March. Although I'd certainly love to be there for your birthday, coming in April is more important for Julie's needs at this point. So sorry.
My manager mentioned that 'we need to do something about my vacation time' - referring to the fact that I'm getting behind on it. So this is my response to it from my side. I also pushed back a bit by pointing out bluntly that when I joined TapRoot permanent after already working there for 2 years, the (now fired) CEO did not let me have even a couple days of the regular 3-week vacation days earned per year. I pointed out how I thought that was wrong, and how it was where this whole problem of being repetedly behind on vacation time had started. Also mentioned that I was rather angry about it, but that the work and people were better than that annoyance.
So if my manager passes that word up to the engineering director, perhaps they might forgive a couple days - but that's rather an outside chance.
Anyway, I'm not feeling good yet, but feeling better - and that's still great!
Fill me in on your side of things :)
Love,
---Dave.
