I just received word from Julie that Siggy Stern passed away.
Sad for all of us, but perhaps good for him as he had been in great struggle over the past few years, and heavily medicated recently. He was a wonderful family friend, and so many fond memories of all the get-togethers my mother and both Teddy and Siggy had over the many years of my childhood - and as an adult. I am much more saddened than I anticipated.

I will always remember the amazing story they told me of how they married. They are both from Vienna, and knew each other a little as very young adults. The idiocy of the Holocaust forced them both separately to leave. Some number of years later they happened to randomly and with great surprise run into each other on the streets of New York City. Such a story they make into movies.

My love to him and to Teddy, and to their daughter, Marsha.
